EXPLORE THE STORIES

The Newham Trackside Wall is a walking collection of short stories that are in turn personal, factual, entertaining and poignant. They reflect the importance of the area’s heritage and the diversity of the community and their views. The groupings of stories offer a flavour of community life in the North Woolwich, Silvertown and Custom House neighbourhoods of Newham, London.

Contributors of all ages and backgrounds have shared stories - a diversity which is reflected in the variety of topics and perspectives included in the final artwork. Authenticity and inclusivity were essential principles for the creation of the work, with particular efforts made to ensure young people’s voices were recorded. Featured stories were fact checked by the artist and edited for consistency and readability. All testimonies will be preserved at the UEL Docklands Campus archives.
